Beautiful example of the iconic cast iron factory wall clock made in England by Gents of Leicester. c.1915
The earliest iteration of the C24 cast iron industrial clock, this example is highly original, in as found condition with beautifully aged dial and cast iron surround. The dial features roman numerals with the the raised 'Pulsynetic' branding made famous by Gents of Leicester. The early hands running on original slave movement which now has benefit of a modern battery operated impulse driver retaining that synonymous mechanical 'clunk' every 30 seconds.
About the maker
Gents of Leicester was formed in 1872 by John Thomas Gent and later registered as Gent & Co. In 1903 they produced an electric clock system labelled as the 'Pul-syn-etic' - a master and slave series of clocks that would go on to revolutionise the workplace and public spaces alike. Gents' electric clocks can still be found in public buildings, railway stations and factories all over the world to this day - a testament to their superior design, build and quality. In the field of electric clocks, Gents products were routinely specified by architects for their simple style, quality, reliability and foolproof installation in any situation.

La prima iterazione dell'orologio industriale in ghisa C24, questo esemplare è originalissimo, in condizioni di conservazione, con quadrante e cornice in ghisa splendidamente invecchiati. Il quadrante presenta numeri romani con il marchio "Pulsynetic" in rilievo reso famoso da Gents of Leicester. Le prime lancette funzionano con il movimento originale a schiava, che ora ha il vantaggio di un moderno azionamento a batteria che mantiene il sinonimo di "clunk" meccanico ogni 30 secondi.
